A message from the Owner:
In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I want to take a moment to share with you my everyday food safety practices, in an effort to put your mind at ease with the procedures practiced within ‘ROCK sugar’ - from baking all the way up to delivery.
In line with my clients’ satisfaction, food safety is, has been, and will always be my number one priority - always.
Having been in the food industry for over 25 years, food safety is something that comes second nature to me.
Every single day, all decorating tools and surfaces including, but not limited to, work tables, countertops, light switches, sinks, cabinets, drawers and handles, refrigerator and regular doors and handles, cake turntables, microwave, and fondant sheeter are cleaned and disinfected using an EPA-approved sanitation solution, 100% safe on all food surface areas. Between each order, all decorating tools, tabletops, and turntables are again cleaned and sanitized.
Once a week, refrigerators and freezer are emptied, cleaned, and wiped down using this same sanitation solution, as well as the additional use of Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes.
Once a month, the oven and all storage areas are emptied, cleaned, and wiped down using this same sanitation solution, as well as the additional use of Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes.
On delivery days, the outside door handles and the inside of the delivery vehicle is cleaned and disinfected.
Proper hand washing and sanitizing occurs constantly within the ‘ROCK sugar’ kitchen, as well as latex-free glove use.
Food safety and proper sanitation is something I take very seriously and to reiterate; these are practices that occur regularly within ‘ROCK sugar’, not just since the COVID-19 outbreaks.
As a result of the aforementioned practices, adherence to Southern Nevada Health District’s Kitchen Sanitation and Food Safety Guidelines, and Food Handler Safety Training certification, ‘ROCK sugar’ has never received a foodborne illness complaint since its inception in May 2015. I promise to continue these practices to ensure the utmost food safety.
